Onion Route Day Trip

To get acquainted with the three cultures of the Onion Route, you need at least a day — of course, it’s even better if you have more time. However, even in just one day, you can see and experience quite a lot. A day trip along the Onion Route is suitable for groups, but you can also book the trip just for yourself if you wish.

The Onion Route day trip includes:

• An overview of Baltic German manor culture at Alatskivi Castle;

• An introduction to traditional Estonian culture and the heritage of the Kodavere parish at the Liivi Museum or the Kodavere Heritage Center;

• A look into the Old Believers’ culture at the Peipsimaa Heritage Center or the Kolkja Old Believers’ Museum;

• Insight into local onion farming, along with onion pies and samovar tea, at Kostja’s Onion Farm.

The price depends on the number of participants and the sites visited (approximately €90 per person for 2 participants, and around €40 per person for a group of 20).

The tour is available in Estonian or English. Each tour lasts about seven hours.

Additionally, transportation (starting from a location convenient for you), accommodation, and catering can be arranged.
