Kolkja Fish and Onion Restaurant

The Kolkja Fish and Onion Restaurant has been a staple in Kolkja for nearly twenty years. In 2022, Juulia and her team took over the restaurant, continuing its tradition of serving dishes featuring Lake Peipus fish and local onions.

The menu is based on recipes from the local Old Believers. Guests can enjoy fish patties, pike-perch (prepared in traditional Old Believer style or with a cheese crust), smoked fish salad, ukha (Russian fish soup), and fish solyanka. They also serve crepes filled with pike-perch fillet. A meal is best finished with samovar tea and traditional cooked sugar.

If you’re visiting with a larger group, it’s recommended to reserve a table in advance.
