ambulARToorium is a source for inspiration for all art aficionados. A lair for all those interested in art, photography and the way of life of the Old Believers.

The name of the ambulARToorium art house reflects the history of the building. It had several functions at different times: a local school, then a village shop; it had also functioned as a sewing workshop and a fish processing unit.
Nevertheless, the village folk remembers this building as ambulatory or outpatient care unit that nurtured inhabitants of three villages – Varnja, Vana-Kasepää and Kolkja. In the heyday of the villages the ambulance house served about 2000 people. Nowadays, the ‘R’ added to the name alludes to mental nurture, that ambulARToorium provides to both locals and guests from farther away. The crumbling building with a good aura became a lair for all those interested in art and the way of life of the Old Believers.

Photography camps and workshops, exhibitions and concerts. Of course, most people know ambulARToorium through its hostess Annika Haas and the highlight event ‘Russian Film Days’.

ambulARToorium expects groups of up to 28 people to organise birthdays, seminars, small gatherings, camps and corporate summer days. Groups may also book special art house training courses in advance. Courses and workshops vary in length and cost (which includes necessary materials). Course topics include photography, stencil, national woodwork, animation.
